As an ATA (American Translators Association) and NYU certified translator with more than 20 years of experience in fields related to language and linguistics, I have the skills, knowledge, and experience to quickly and accurately translate, edit and proofread documents from many genres and multiple content areas. My primary working language pairs are Spanish to English (the pair in which I am certified by the American Translators Association), French to English and Latin to English. While I have extensive experience and expertise in a number of fields (including medical and technical documents, works in the humanities and social sciences, and niche areas such as sports and video games), I specialize in legal and educational documents, including court orders, notarial records and civil registry documents (such as birth, death, and marriage certificates) from Spain and Latin America, as well as college and university transcripts, academic records, certificates, and diplomas. I am also one of the few professional linguists who is dedicated to the translation of college and university diplomas from Latin to English and Spanish. Although I usually do not have the availability to take on extremely large jobs, I completely dedicate myself to each and every document that I accept for translation and editing. I am prepared to conduct extensive background research when necessary and make sure that I get the job right the first time, every time. I pay meticulous attention to detail, including meeting each client’s specific formatting and other requirements. To contact me for a translation or editing job or to receive a free quote, please email me at richard@richardmcdorman.org and I will respond to you as quickly as possible (always within one business day).
